ARTIST BIO DAVID COLLACO

 

David Collaco (b.1989, Florianopolis-SC Brazil) is a Paris-based Brazilian photographer. His previous works are based in Boston-USA, Europe and Brazil. Since 2008, the artist has been evolving his photography skills through numerous projects which helped him in his artistic career. His experiences with Boston Common Magazine (2016-2017), Boston Globe (2017), Brazil Vogue (2014), and G1 magazine Brazil (2014) at the international level inspired him to explore the depth of photography aesthetics. Renowned in the arena of commercial photography Collaco started his travel narratives in the year 2017, when he left Boston for London for tranquillity and pleasure to explore vanquished freedom with his camera. As a photographer, he discovered new elements in his perception, where he started to capture the rare moments to transform the camera shots. The captured shots exhibit a sense of organic sensuality and unique moments of emotional response to the philosophy of living in moments. His photography reflects the state of innocence, simplicity and purity which depicts the flavour of nature and gifts of lived moments. Collaco views photography as a medium to ‘immortalize moments’ through his camera. His work embellishes descriptions of nature and experience in those captured moments. Viewers can experience the ‘je ne sais quoi’ (do not what!?!) effect in his photographs, when multiple aspects of an image visually sync and work in harmony to strengthen the theme.

Collaco continuously attempts to capture Neo-classic moments which splashes momentary retrospectives to its viewers. His collected shots are a series of lyrical travel moments which admire narrative settings for viewers to interpret their feelings and reflections out of observation of a shot remarkable for its beauty. His shots sprinkle the experience with the freedom to interpret its ‘picturesqueness’ to its viewers. The artist intends to experience socio-cultural contrasts, religious assimilation, and ‘music of humanity’ in his nomad anthropological journey. Collaco mentions that’ if you love your work, one never works a day in his life.’ Henceforth, his chronology of travel expeditions in Europe, Brazil and the USA has created a unique disassociation of sensibility from thought and the captured photograph’s reintegration among his viewers.
